I ran the Evacuee Marketplace inside a multi-agency center. We set it up so families could come in and choose what they actually needed, rather than handing out pre-packed boxes.
We got about $3M in donated goods to more than 1,000 families, and tried to do it in a way that respected people on a hard day.
