All Hands was launching its first program in Africa, on short notice, as IOM's implementing partner after major flooding — in a context none of us had worked in before.
I helped coordinate 165 volunteers and ran data collection across 206 displacement camps, building the operation up as we went.
The assessment data helped route aid to where it was needed for around 162,000 people affected by the flooding, and we came in about 7% under budget.
